Dental Students Awareness on Factors Related to Patients Anxiety Towards 3rd Molar Extraction - A Questionnaire Based Study.

Abstract: Aim of this study is to evaluate the awareness among dental students on factors related to patients anxiety towards 3rd molar extractions. oral health has an impact in the quality of life dental anxiety affects a significant proportion of people. Anxiety is a barrier for the patients which stops them from undergoing 3rd molar extraction. Third molar extraction produces swelling, trismus, pain as their postoperative sequelae. There is no previous literature regarding dental students' view on anxiety of a dental patient. In this study we evaluate the knowledge of dental students about patients anxiety. In this study we found there is no significant difference in knowledge about patients anxiety among all students all showed good knowledge (p>0.05). This study concludes that students residing in saveetha dental college are well aware about patient anxiety and related supportive measures to be taken.
