Knowledge and awareness about digital trends practiced among dentists

| Abstract:

The digital revolution is changing the world, and dentistry is no exception. The age of digitalization has guided digital dentistry which helps in integrating new technologies and maximizing treatment outcomes.Digitalization improves efficiency and reduces time. The advancements in digital dentistry enhances the accurate identification, diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases in its early stages. It is mandatory that the future dentists and current dental practitioners are well aware about the latest digital trends for better treatment. The aim of the study is to find out about the knowledge and awareness about digital trends among dentists. The present study is a cross sectional survey conducted among 102 dental students to analyse their awareness about the digital trends among dentists. A self administered questionnaire was prepared which included around 10 questions along with demographic data and was circulated among the students through google docs forms. The data was collected and statistically analyzed using SPSS software. Majority of the students were aware about digital trends in the field of dentistry, their uses, parameters that ensure success in digital dentistry. The present study concludes that there is a positive response and awareness among the dental students which was statistically significant (p value<0.05) .
