Knowledge and awareness on teledentistry among dentists- an online survey

| Abstract:

The usage of information-based technology and networking networks to provide health treatment through global ranges is telemedicine. Teledentistry is the use of electronic information, imaging and communication technologies, including interactive audio, video, data communications as well as storage and forward technologies, to provide and support dental care delivery, diagnosis, consultation, treatment, transfer of dental information and education.The aim of the study is to access the knowledge and awareness on teledentistry among dentists.A self administered questionnaire was prepared with 13 open and closed ended question. The questionnaire was circulated through online platform “google form link” to about 104 participants.The data was collected and analysed using SPSS software and Pearson Chi-square test was also done.About 52.9% of participants prefer normal dental practise,35.6% prefer Teledentistry,11.5% prefer mobile dentistry.The study concludes that the population of are aware of Teledentistry and its uses.
