Qualitative phytochemical analysis indicate that garlic extract have many active compound with antimicrobial activity,
we investigated the antimicrobial activity of aquous and alcohol extract of garlic(Aliumsativum)on some selected
environmental and clinical isolates using agar well difussion method and the Minimum Inhibitary Concentration(MIC)
was (25mg/ml),from the results we found that the environmental isolates(wild type)was more sensetive that the
clinical one depending on the diameter of inhibition zone ,by comparing these results with the sensitivity to
commercial antibiotics(Ampicillin, Tetracycline, Erythromycin, Vancomycine, Ciprodare, Gentamycin,
Chloramphenicol, Rifampicin)we can observe that the environmental isolates were resist to(Erythromycin,
Vancomycine, Ciprodare)meanwhile the clinical isolates were more resistance .after detection of the best garlic
extract we found that the aquous extract more effective ,in the other hand this effect decrease by increasing PH of
the extract.
