Applied study for the treatment of inactive ovaries in heifer's cows by using PMSG with vitamins and minerals

| Abstract:

This study was conducted on thirty local Iraqi breeds heifers cow aged between 2-3-years suffered from anestrous
resulted from inactive ovary diagnosed by rectal palpation of the ovaries which were felt as smooth, small and firm
nonfunctional ovaries. The cow's heifers were randomly divided into 3 groups The cows G1: 10 cows injected with
1000 I.U. PMSG I.M and 10ml OLIGO-UVIT. G2: 10 cows injected with 1000 I.U PMSG I.M. and 6ml AD3E
(UVEDCO-AD3E. G3:) 10 cows injected with 1000 I.U. PMSG I.M.Results of cows responded to various treatments
and showed signs of estrus revealed a significant differencesat (p <0.05) between the treated groups. G1 showed the
highest response for treatment, followed by the PMSG with OLIGO treating group; whereas, the lowest response
was observed in G3. All the treated females were housed with bulls to ensure mating. Results of cow's heifers
responded and showed signs of estrus were 8/10 (80%), 6/10 (60%) and 3/10 (30%) in G1, G2, G3. Conclusion: using
of PMSG with nutrient supplementation led to an improvement in estrus induction in comparison to using PMSG
alone.
