Glucose Catalysed and Ultrasound Assisted Synthesis of Pharmaceutically Potent Azomethine Analogues in Water Medium: A Complete Green Approach

Abstract: Ultrasound assisted synthesis is a green chemistry approach that is widely practiced in the synthetic organic chemistry in nowadays. In the present work, a series of azomethines were synthesized by condensation of various aromatic aldehydes and p-toluidine using glucose as catalyst, water as solvent and by using ultra-sonication as ecofriendly source of energy for the very first time ever. The structures of synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, 1HNMR, 13C-NMR spectroscopy.
