SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITIES OF SOME NOVEL 2-AMINO-4-(SUBSTITUTED)-6-SUBSTITUTEDPHENYL-4H-PYRAN-3-CARBONITRILE BEARING DIFFERENT HETEROCYCLES

Author: LOHAR S, VINOD TUKARAM, KETAN GANURE, K. S. LOHAR
Abstract: Heterocyclic compounds have captured our attention for many reasons, chief among them are their various biological properties. The emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance has become one of the most serious public health concern across the world. In recent years, pyranes and their derivatives have attracted serious interest due to their useful biological activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, cosmetics, pigments, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, antiviral, anticancer and anticoagulant, etc. Also, 4H-pyran derivatives constitute a useful class of heterocyclic compounds which are widely distributed in nature and used in the treatment of asthma and allergies. Pyrazoles, quinoline, salicyaldehyde, pyran and pyranopyrimidine were known for their promising biological activities such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antiviral activities etc. In continuation of our research on the synthesis of biologically potent 4-amino/oxo-5-substituted-7-phenylpyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine analogues linked to different heterocyclic system, in the present study envisaged the development of some novel pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2(5H) derivatives bearing various heteroycles. These compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities.
