| Abstract:
|
Calcium phosphates cements (CPC) are widely used in bone tissue engineering. The application includes hard tissues such as teeth or bone replacement, regeneration & augmentation as they show excellent bioactivity and bone mineral compositional similarities. This article gives the detailed properties of CPC, their presence in different forms, hardening mechanism, bioactivity &resorption, approaches for drug loading & drug release kinetics form cements. CPC find a great application in antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, growth hormones, ions, anti-cancer, anti-osteoporotic drugs & active biomolecules delivery.
