SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ANTI-MICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF CERTAIN NOVEL SUBSTITUTED 1,3-THIAZOLE DERIVATIVES

Author: , GOBALA KRISHNAN P, GNANA PRAKASH K, CHANDRA SEKHAR K.B
Abstract: A Series of novel 1-(2-(3-cyano-4-isobutoxy phenyl)-4-methyl thiazole-5-carbonyl)-N-(substituted phenyl) piperidine- 2-carboxamide were synthesized by condensation of 2-(3-cyano-4-isobutoxy phenyl)-4-methyl thiazole-5-carboxylic acid and N-(Substituted phenyl) piperidine-2-carboxamides. The structure of synthesized thiazole derivatives (8a-j) was characterized by using IR, 1H NMR and Mass Spectroscopy. These derivatives were also evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activities by using disc diffusion technique. Result reveals that some of the synthesized thiazole derivatives showing significant antimicrobial activities.
