Nanoparticle applications have been improved in different areas of sciences, among these are the medical
applications. In did , the estimation of their effects in this field can be evaluated via studying of their effects on the
relevant biochemical functions of the investigated disease. The aim of this study is to estimate the effect of ZnO
nanoparticles on peroxidase activity in serum of patients with Type2 Diabetes Millets. Serum samples of 30 patients,
aged (40-60) years, with type2diabetes millets were collected as a patients group. Control group included 20 samples
were obtained from 20 healthy subjects, aged (40-60). Nanoparticles of ZnO were used in this study in a diameter
less than 80 nm. Serum peroxidase activity of the studied groups was estimated in absence and presence of ZnO
Nanoparticles by colorimetric method. The obtained results in this study were showed that the activity of serum
peroxidase in presence of ZnO NPs in patients group was lower than its activity in this group without ZnO NPs. at
the same time, both its activities in patients group (with and without ZnO NPs) were found to be lower than its
activity in control group. This study show decreasing of serum peroxidase activity in presence of ZnO NPs. this
effect may be due to the biological activity of this type of NPs in addition to the conformational changes that can be
occurred on the protein structure .
