Medical image processing technics has been a great boon to hematologists for the detection and investigation of various disorders which includes leukemia and malarial parasites. Hence image preprocessing and enhancement are done using denoising filers and edge detectors.[4] Edge detection is susceptible to the noise and hence denoising is to be done with Gaussian filter. The idea is to connect the points at which image brightness changes sharply are typically organized into a set of curved line segments termed edges. Canny edge detection algorithm was developed by John F. Canny in 1986 which was a multistage algorithm. In this paper we have implemented few filters on the blood cells to evaluate the best performing edge detector.
