Evaluation of the Safety and Efficacy of JointAid Oil in Patients with acute and chronic Musculoskeletal pain: An open label, Non-Comparative, Multicenter clinical trial

Abstract:

The positive effects of topical analgesics have been demonstrated by different clinical studies in the management of
certain acute and chronic painful inflammation in musculoskeletal conditions. JointAid Oil which is a polyherbal
formulation recommended for the management of painful inflammation in musculoskeletal disorders. For symptomatic
management of chronic inflammation in musculoskeletal disorders, various clinical trials had been conducted of
JointAid Oil for evaluation of the safety and efficacy. These clinical studies were an open, prospective, noncomparative,
proof of concept study. These clinical studies include total of 112 patients, which were suffering from
acute and chronic inflammation in musculoskeletal disorders. Patients had been advised to apply topically enough
quantity of JointAid Oil, twice daily for a period of 15 days with gentle massage to the affected area. All the patients
were evaluated at the beginning and at the end of the study with the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities
Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) for the muscular pain, joint pain, joint swelling, joint tenderness and early morning
joint stiffness along with these, patients had been also checked for local adverse reactions like burning/stinging
sensation, irritation, and erythema. This study showed significant reduction in the mean WOMAC score which shows
relief in muscular pain, joint pain, joint swelling, joint tenderness, and early morning joint stiffness. Also, during entire
period, there have been clinically no significant adverse events and was excellent overall compliance to the treatment
of JointAid Oil. Hence, it can be concluded, JointAid Oil is safe and effective in the symptomatic management of
chronic inflammation in musculoskeletal disorders.
