The immunological status of calves in the early postnatal period has been studied by the main indicators: the absolute and relative counts of leukocytes, lymphocytes and their subpopulations (T - and B-lymphocytes), functional activity of neutrophils (spontaneous and induced tests), immunoglobulins G and M, and lysozyme activity of blood serum. In the experimental and production conditions of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the effect of using the developed ecologically safe product of plant origin — phytogam — on the morbidity and preservation rate of clinically healthy calves and those with respiratory disease and moderate severity of immunodeficiency has been studied. The use of phytogam in the prescribed dosages promotes immune status normalization in calves with mixed viral-bacterial respiratory diseases to the level of the physiological norm.
