The article presents the results of a laboratory research on the acute toxicity of a new iron-sorbitol-protein complex in dosage forms for internal use and injections. Based on the research results, the levels of the harmlessness of the agent have been determined for various administration methods, as well as the indicators of the average lethal dose for mice and rats. The maximum tolerated dose of the drug, which did not cause manifestations of poisoning when using internally was 750 mg of iron per kilogram of the laboratory animals’ weight. The compliance with the current requirements for iron-containing drugs for animal husbandry and veterinary medicine in terms of acute toxicity has been set up
