Abstract:

The article presents the data on monitoring the urban green spaces’ condition using geographic information system (GIS). Created GIS allows more effective monitoring of green spaces’ condition. It includes layers of electronic maps of the territory with attributive information about the available landscaping objects. Development and implementation of the urban green spaces’ condition can be used for conducting research, implementing environmental protection measures, drawing city improvement project plan, as well as maintaining the infrastructure of the landscaping object in good condition. The results of the study are included in the information system of urban development. Further, the results can be taken into account when analyzing the condition of landscaping objects, taking measures to improve Kovirinsky Garden (city of Vologda, Russia), as well as creating comfortable environment for city residents and visitors.
