Abstract: The aim of the work is to study the effectiveness of using bariatric surgery to restore reproductive health in people suffering from obesity. The study involved 270 patients suffering from obesity and impaired reproductive function. Patients were treated for obesity with the help of bariatric surgery, the effectiveness of the treatment was assessed by changes in laboratory tests and the physiological state of the patients. As a result of the treatment, normalization of the reproductive system in male and female patients was noted. So, in 92% of female patients after a bariatric surgery, the duration of the ovarian-menstrual cycle was normalized. The duration of menstrual bleeding in 91% of patients returned to normal, and menorrhagia disappeared in 79% of women. Positive changes were also observed in laboratory tests. In male patients, after surgical treatment, there was an improvement in hormonal levels. Thus, the use of surgical methods in the treatment of reproductive disorders arising during the development of obesity has proven effective. Constructive changes in the patient's digestive tract lead to a decrease in fat mass. When this occurs, the normalization of the oppressed functions and systems, which restores patient’s fertility.
