Background: During the reign of the Sassanid dynasty in Gandhi Shapur, the university and its hospital were established and achieved great fame. Gandhi Shapur has a very ancient background and has been considered as the Aryan era. Its name is Jennethaspier to, the beautiful garden. During the Iran-Rome War, Shapur I, after defeating the «Roman Valerian» of the Eastern Roman Empire, traveled to Iran with seventy thousand soldiers and placed them in the building of the city of Gandhi Shapur. Gandhi Shapur was renowned for three major events in history: the establishment of the University and the Hospital of Medicine and the Famous Hospital of Gandhi Shapur, and then turning it into an industrial center and, finally, the execution of Mani in this city.
Methods: The Gandhi Shapur University invented a special method to attract and adapt the education of different nations and to finalize them. According to their book, «they have created alternative treatments using the pharmacology and therapeutic methods of other peoples.» These methods were superior to those of the Greeks and Indians. Gandhi Shapur doctors also modified and completed the scientific methods of others with their findings, and regulated the laws and medical principles and recorded what they were doing.
Results & Conclusions: These writings show that Gandhi Shapur was still in the first half of the eighth century, but today the ruins of the Sassanid Scientific and Industrial Center, called Shah Abad, are located about 12 kilometers northwest of Shushtar, reflecting the status of the first university and Iran Hospital. (Ibn Abi Ashbey, 1970.) All the participants were informed about the aims and the importance of the study quietly before giving consents to be recruited. The participants could quit the study whenever they wished with no penalty or excuse.
