Abstract:

Background: Strategic Organizational Learning makes faster and more responsive to complex and dynamic environments. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the impact of Strategic Planning on organizational learning.
Methods: This is a descriptive-analytical and correlational study that conducted in 2017 at the academic staffs of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. Using random sampling method, 295 managers and experts of university staff were selected and data were collected by two questionnaires: Peter Senge Learning Organization and Strategic Planning as one of the Dimensions of Total Quality Management. Data analysis was performed using Pearson correlation and regression coefficient with SPSS16 software.
Results: The results indicated a direct and significant relationship between strategic planning and organizational learning (P= 0.001). This connection was observed in all aspects of learning organization. Also there was the positive and significant effect of strategic planning on learning organization (b=2.736, SE=0.517, p=0.001).
Conclusion: This study confirmed that strategic planning effects on organizational learning, Thus the study reveals that measures can be taken to help the achievement and transfer of internal and external knowledge through long-term strategic plans, and contribute to the organizational effectiveness and development.
