This work aimed to develop and optimize fast dissolving film of Buspirone hydrochloride by using three polymer and plasticizer were selected on the basis of the preliminary studies carried out before the experimental design is being implemented. Buspirone hydrochloride is a low dose, HT2-receptor antagonist, indicated for generalized anxiety disorder.Various grades of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) as a film forming agent, plasticizer Glycerin and aaspartame as sweetening agent used for preparation of oral film by using solvent casting method. FTIR studies showed no interaction between drug and polymer or with other additives. Disintegration time, in vitro drug release at 5 min and Tensile strength were studied.
