Explaining the Attitude toward Pregnancy in Women with AIDS visiting Triangular Clinics in Hamedan: a Qualitative Study

Abstract:

Results of researches indicate that women have a significant share of people with AIDS in the world and their fertility
is of great importance as one of the most important causes affecting mental health indicators. The aim of this study
was to determine the attitude of women with AIDS in pregnancy in patients visiting triangular clinics in Hamedan.This
qualitative study was conducted using a content analysis method from February 2017 to June 2017 in triangular clinics
in Hamadan, Iran. Selecting participants in this study were done purposive method; thus, 12 women with AIDS were
included in the study. After explaining the goals of the research and obtaining informed consent from each of the
participants, a semi-structured interview was conducted with each participant. Content analysis was used to extract
concepts.Based on the findings of the data analysis, two themes of "unwillingness to pregnancy" with four subthemes,
and "willingness to pregnancy" with one subtheme were identified and extracted.The results of this study emphasize
the necessity of developing the reproductive health services of women with AIDS and observing the rights of
reproductive health of these people.
