| Abstract:

In now a day’s human face recognition and emotion recognition plays vital role for authentication, robot
interaction, active research region in the field of Human robot Interaction, Smart home, Medical applications,
machine learning. As proforma says face is the index of mind by capturing face reading estimation of emotions can
be done. Human face is different from one person to another person, so recognition of face and emotions are
complex but with the help of modeling techniques it’s possible to recognize face and face expressions. This survey
paper discusses the techniques for face and emotion recognition.
