Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the Antioxidant and Antimicrobial effects of various extracts and two flavones isolated from Tarconanthus camphoratus L.which collected from Yemen. Bioactivity –guided fractionation of the most active extract led to isolation and identification of two flavones Nepetin and Hispidulin. Antioxidant activity was evaluated by using DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl and ?-carotene bleaching method, while antimicrobial test achieved by using agar dilution method. The (Dichloromethane/Ethyl acetate) extract and the two flavones showed strong antioxidant activity, almost similar in effect to standard compounds, while hexane extract showed weak antioxidant activity. The results of this study also show that the different extracts as well as the isolated compounds had antimicrobial activity with different potencies.
