The main aim of this research work was to develope rapid, sensitive, economic, novel and simple spectrophotometric method has been developed for simultaneous estimation of Bromohexine and Ciprofloxacin by employing first-order derivative spectrophotometric method. The method applied is first-order derivative spectrophotometry. The wavelengths selected were 239 nm and 285 nm for quantification of Ciprofloxacin and Bromohexine respectively and method was validated as per ICH guidelines. Beer’s law obeyed in concentration range of 0.2-1.2 µg/mL and 6-36 µg/mL for Bromohexine and Ciprofloxacin with the correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.999 for both the drugs, respectively. The percentage recovery of Bromohexine and Ciprofloxacin were found to be 99.52±0.37 % and 99.37±0.40 % respectively. Rapid, sensitive, economic, novel spectrophotometric method has been developed for simultaneous estimation of Bromohexine and Ciprofloxacin in pharmaceutical dosage form and therefore developed method can be used for routine analysis of Ciprofloxacin and Bromohexine in pharmaceutical dosage form.
