Abstract:

A simple and reproducible spectrophotometric method, requiring no prior separation, has been
developed for the estimation of Aspirin and Atorvastatin Calcium in combined dosage form. Second
order derivative spectroscopy method was adopted to eliminate spectral interference, using 266.78nm and
237.35nm as zero crossing points for Aspirin and Atorvastatin Calcium respectively. Methanol was used
as a solvent. The results of analysis have been validated statistically and recovery studies confirmed the
accuracy of the proposed method.
