Heart diseases are the gigantic challenge for people throughout the nation and international community. The valuable effects of utilization of Pithecellobium dulce flower and fruit on cardio protective activity have been reported. In this study the cardio protective activity of the medically valued flower and fruits aqueous extracts of Pithecellobium dulce plant on isoprotenol induced myocardial infarction in rats. After the treatment with plant materials the normal concentration of cardiac marker enzymes like creatine phosphokinase (CPK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), serum aspartate amino transferase (AST or SGOT) and serum alanine amino transferase (ALT or SGPT) levels in serum was determined. Furthermore the changes in the levels of serum cholesterol and triglycerol also normal were identified. Finally the histopathological patterns of normal cardiac tissue with the one that was treated with flower and fruit extracts of Pithecellobium dulce after inducing myocardial infarction were compared, in that the appearance of normal cells denoted the plant extract vigorously involved for the treatment of heart disease.
