Author: MOHAMMADREZA MOHSENPOUR, ROBAB RAHMATI, MAHMOUD MEIDANI
Abstract: The aim of this study was to compare the emotional behavioralcharacteristics among single-parent children caused by divorce with ordinary children. The method of the study was causal-comparative. The statistical population consisted of all male and female single-parent and ordinary students of elementary school in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 2014-2015 school year. The samplewas consisted of 120 individuals, 60 single parent children (30 single mothers, 30 single fathers) and 60 children from the ordinary families. A stratified random sampling method was used to select the subjectsamong students. In order to collect data, the Conners emotional and behavioral disorders questionnaire (for teachers, improving student motivation (ISM) questionnaire) was used. To analyze the data, one-way variance analysis, Moon Scheffe (Post Hoc) and independent t-test were used. The results showed that F calculated for total emotional-behavioral characteristics in the three groups of students (P = 0.001, F = 100 = 830 = (117, 2), in the level of < 0.01 is significant,so it could be concluded that the total emotional-behavioral characteristics of in the three groups of single parent-mother, single parent-father and ordinary are different. The mean of emotional-behavioral characteristics in ordinary students is lower than students with single parent-father and single parent-mother. Also, there is a significant difference between the mean of behavioral emotional characteristics in students with single mother and students with single father, so that the mean of behavioral emotional characteristics in students with single mother is lower than that of with single father.
