Analyzing Negative Aspects of the Shadow Archetype in Gholamhossein Saedi’s Stories(A model for the Analysis of Archtypes in Literary Works)

Author: HASSAN VESKARI, SHOKRULLAH POURALKHAS, RAMIN MOHARAMI, EBRAHIM RANJBAR
Abstract: Archetypical criticism is one of the sub-branches of psychological criticism. This approach developed by carl Jung describes mythological features being present in the collective unconscious. Since Gholamhossein Saedi’s stories are symbolic, they are capable of being interpreted based on Jung's school. Collective unconscious represents Saedi’s symbolism. Shadow archetype is the most significant archetype the aspects of which are analyzed in this study. The current study is a descriptive analytical research which explores mundane aspects such as animals, self-obsession, indulging sins and superstitions in Saedi’s stories.
