MgZn bimetallic nanoparticles (MgZn BNp) were synthesized using Dracaena mahatma leaf extract with microwave assistance. The synthesized nanoparticles were purified by acetone wash and centrifugation. MgZn BNp demonstrated ?max at 341nm. Size of MgZn BNp was identified as 6.1nm ± 0.2nm by DLS analyses. MgZn BNp appeared to be thin sheets or layers of scales or flakes in SEM image analysis. EDX analysis confirmed the presence of Mg, Zn, Cl, S and O elements in the MgZn BNp. The synthesized MgZn BNp demonstrated selective antifungal activity with highest activity against A.niger with a zone of inhibition of 17mm at 1mg/ml concentration. MgZn BNp synthesized using Dracaena mahatma leaf extract demonstrates promising antifungal activity for further clinical studies and application in pharmaceutical industries.
