Characterization of Impurities of 8-Chlorotheophylline using Modern analytical Techniques.

| Abstract:
|
Two impurities present in 8-chlorotheophylline were separated by a gas chromatography.
For the characterization of impurities GC-MS was used. The number of impurities present in
the sample of 8-chlorotheophylline was also confirmed by HPTLC and HPLC. Based on
mass spectral data, the structures of these impurities were characterized as N-chloro methyl
derivative of 8-Chlorotheophylline and hydrated N-chloro methyl derivative of 8-
Chlorotheophylline.
