Quantitative Spectrophotometric Methods for the Determination of Repaglinide in Pure and Pharmaceutical Formulations

Author: UPLOADED BY-ADMIN, C H. SUDHEER, B. TIRUMALESWARA RAO, S.V. M. VARDHAN , C. RAMBABU
Abstract: Two simple and sensitive spectrophotometric methods have been described for the assay of Repaglinide either in pure and in its pharmaceutical formulations. The methods A and B are based on the formation of ion-pair complex reaction between the acid-dyes bromocresol purple (Method-A) and bromocresol green blue at pH-3.0(Method-B). The formed colored complexes showed absorbance maxima at 416 and 414nm for method-A and B respectively. Beer’s law is obeyed in the concentration ranges 2.5-12.5µg/ml for both the methods with molar absorptivity of 2.41 x 104 and 2.20 x 104L.mole-1.cm-1 and relative standard deviation of 0.8967 % and 1.256 % for methods A&B respectively. Results of analysis were validated statistically through recovery studies. The proposed methods are simple, fast and sensitive, and can be successfully applied for the assay of Repaglinide in pure and pharmaceutical formulations.
