Smart Solutions for Vitiligo: Innovative Vesicular Lipids Targeting Skin Repigmentation and Vitamin Enrichment

Author: K.MARY SWARNALATHA, E.VARSHINI, K.CHANDRIKA MANASA, M. JYOTHI, P. SUNEEL, T. RAMA RAO
Abstract: Vitiligo, a complex dermatological disorder marked by patchy skin depigmentation. The exact ethology of the vitiligo remains unclear, poses significant therapeutic challenges due to its auto immune and progressive nature. Despite progress in understanding the autoimmune basis, current available treatments often fail to fully recover the skin tone. Shows a deeper complexity – vitiligo has become an autoimmune puzzle that’s motivating scientific research. As traditional systems struggle to keep pace with patient’s needs, the rise of lipid vesicular systems offers a new hope which includes ethosomes, hyalurosomes, oleosomes, cubosomes. These nanocarriers are emerging as game changers in targeted treatment, known for their enhanced drug delivery, improved drug stability, are uniquely positioned to target melanocytes, penetrate deeper skin layers and promote long lasting repigmentation. In addition, the growing importance of topical vitamin d as a cutting-edge treatment strategy for vitiligo is highlighted in this review. Topical vitamin d3 analogs can be used with other therapies as an adjuvant to its immunomodulatory effects suppressing T cells, positive effect on melanocyte differentiation, and stimulating melanogenesis.
Keyword: lipid vesicular systems, vitamin d3 analogue, berberine, melanin restore, hyaluronic acid, thymoquine, micro needling.
