Author: AMIT ASHOK PALIWAL, VASUDHA GAJANANRAO ASUTKAR
Abstract: The use of herbal products is expanding at an unprecedented rate around the globe. India is the motherland of science based on natural plants. When turning botanical materials into medications, herbal drug technology plays a crucial role in standardization and quality control, ensuring that contemporary scientific methods are properly integrated with traditional knowledge. WHO-specific criteria for evaluating the safety, efficacy, and quality of herbal medicines are crucial for worldwide harmonization. A medicine is said to be standardized when its identification, quality, and purity are verified at every stage of its life cycle. A summary of the various approaches used thus far to standardize crude and completed compound medications, including physical, chemical, biological, microscopic, and macroscopic procedures.
