The current study included 40 blood samples, 30 blood samples from infected people withG. lamblia parasite and 10 samples from healthy people, taken from people visiting external laboratories who suffer infection with G. lamblia, after confirming their infection through microscopic examination of the stool and finding trophozoite and cyst phases. It was observed by measuring the levels of electrolytes (calcium, sodium and potassium) and lipasesignificant differences between the healthy and the patients for each of sodium, calcium and lipase, In patients infected with G. lamblia, there was a significant decrease in the concentration of lipase when compared with healthy controls (table 1), at the same time that there was a significant decrease in the concentration of calcium and a significant increase in the concentration of sodium when compared with the healthy ones (table 2). while there was no significant difference in the concentration of potassium, from here we notice a relationship between infection with G. lamblia parasiteand changes in the levels of both electrolytes and lipase enzyme.
