Evaluation Of Antimicrobial, Antihelmintic & Invitro Antioxidant Activity Of Different Leaf Extracts Of Diospyros Ebenum. Linn

Author: M.SOUMYA , SAMA SHIVANI, M SUSMITHA, V SRILAXMI , D MAHENDER, ASADULLAH
Abstract: The leaves of Diospyros ebenum Linn. is belonging to the family. It is distributed throughout the outer Himalayas to Bangal and Central South India. Its various parts are highly regarded for their medicinal properties in the Indigenous systems of medicine. Plants contain many active constituents so it is necessary to isolate particular compound of interest. The objective of the present studies is to isolation of phytoconstituents from selected extract based on phytochemical screening and further characterization of isolated compound by spectral analysis (UV, FT-IR NMR and LC-MS spectroscopy). The different extracts and / or isolated compound would be studied for antimicrobial activity (by agar diffusion method), anthelmintic activity (by using earthworm Pheritima posthuma) and antioxidant activity by DPPH method.
