Nitrogen containing compounds are very important heterocyclic derivatives in the field of medicinal chemistry. Quinazolinones are very useful heterocyclic compound have a wide range of biological activities like anti-HIV, anti-cancer, anticonvulsant, antifungal, analgesic and anti-inflammatory antibacterial, activities. Promising biological importance of quinazolinones have prompt the scientist to explore the chemistry of quinazolinones as a new anti-inflammatory agent. The exploitation of quinazoline-4-(3H)-one core as a new anti-inflammatory agent has gained momentum recently. The purpose of this current review is to provide an overview chemistry and anti-inflammatory activity of various quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives.
