Depression is common among chronic medical illness patients. The current study involves the creation of a diabetes-specific, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural therapy. The study's goal was to look into the effect of the psychodynamic intervention on blood glucose levels, depression, and quality of life (QOL). The research is divided into stages I-IV. The randomized trial will include approximately 400 diabetic patients. A poor glycemic and signs of depressive symptomatology are inclusion criteria. The current study looks at the prevalence of depression in diabetic patients adherence to treatment, and advice by providing effective counselling tools such as patient information leaflets and proper patient monitoring through regular follow-up. A prospective cohort study is conducted over a three-year period. In a specialized diabetes facility, all diabetic patients are treated in a standardized treatment program. By administering a questionnaire to selected patients from diabetic clinics in order to collect data on demographics, depressive symptoms, diabetes knowledge, and diabetes self-care functioning. By using regression analyses to determine the effect of symptoms of depression on diabetes self-care and oral hypoglycemic regimen, HbA1c levels, and health care costs. The evaluation of the selected interventions on the patient's glycemic profile and QOL after they have been implemented.
