Evaluation of Anticancer Activity of Ethanolic Extract of Vetiveria Zizanioides roots

Abstract: Objective To study the anticancer activity of ethanolic extract of Vetiveria Zizanioides roots. Method The Ethanolic extract of Vetiveria Zizanioides roots (EEVZ) were evaluated for anti cancer activity against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) bearing swiss albino mice and for the present anticancer study we used two concentration of ethanolic extract of Vetiveria Zizanioides roots (EEVZ) in the dose of 100mg/kg and 200mg/kg in 1% carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) and were given orally. Result The roots of Vetiveria Zizanioides was selected for the study, on the basis of ethanobotanical information which reveals its uses against one of the most hazardous disease cancer which shown significant response. Conclusion The roots of Vetiveria Zizanioides has been studied to compare and give detailed reports on pharmacological studied on it.
