A recent outbreak of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) the respiratory infectious disease, puts the hazardous effect on human health that has led to millions of deaths across the globe. Preventing the infection via a guided lockdown brings a lot more changes in environmental conditions. This review paper focuses on representing both positive and negative impacts of the pandemic, along with the prescribed environmental history that is, before the lockdown and historical pandemic (Black Death). Also, it exposes the impacts of COVID-19 on the environment during the period of this lockdown. The positive effects like decreased global warming and reduced ozone layer depletion, reduction of air pollution, purification of water bodies, reduction of sound and thermal pollution and the negative effects like the rise in illegal activities, reduction of waste recycling and increase of medical waste are discussed here. This review article helps to understand the way COVID-19 is affecting nature than other historical disease (Black Death). It also includes evidence of nature renewability. Implementation of this research in the Research and Technology industries will help imply the positive effects more sustainable and long-term and finding ways to control its negative impacts.
