Abstract:

Coronavirus Disease in 2019 (COVID-19) cause serious threats to humanity, nation lost many precious lives, employment and many more. Day by day increased cases coerced government in making strict rules and regulation for the prevention of the virus transmission by wearing facemasks, maintain social distancing, frequent hand washing, avoid gathering, to prevent contact with the infected person etc. The centers for disease control and prevention release various guideline in a frequent manner and make facemasks covering mandatory in outdoor public places as well indoor environment. This protection against SARS-CoV-2 and other airborne infections encourages industry stakeholders to develop and produce novel solutions. Nanoparticles, nanofibers, and other cutting-edge nanomaterials technologies have been incorporated into the mask manufacturing process. This article deals with the different type of face mask their usage and recent developments to increase the effectiveness and the durability of the facemasks. Some recent studies using nanomaterials are also discussed.
