Mental health of teachers in private higher educational institutes of Uttarakahnd: an empirical analysis

Poor mental health is an alarming issue and has touched in every profession in the world. It can adversely affect an individual’s personal and professional life. The purpose of the study is to examine the level of mental wellbeing of the faculty working in the higher education institutions (HEIs) of Uttarakhand and also to study the factors that influence the mental health and the performance of the teacher. A self-structured questionnaire was prepared and primary data was collected through Google form. The sample consisted of 149 faculties working in the private Higher Education institutes of Uttarakhand. Convenience sampling was used. A lot is to be done for the metal wellbeing of the employees in the Universities. The analysis on the 12 construct on males and females shows that out of twelve, five factors have more impact on the metal health of the females and 6 factors have an impact on the metal wellbeing on males. Can also be stated that six constructs have p-values less than 0.05 and six construct has p-values more than 0.05 (null hypothesis may be accepted). Strenuous working condition is a factor which equally impacts the mental health of both the genders.
