In recent times, Metal oxide / Polymer biodegradable Nanocomposites have received great interest from Scientists, due to their uniqueness in desired properties, compared to the single nanoparticle. Nanocomposites are a combination of materials in which varied constituents synergistic to develop novel properties in nano sized range (1-100 nm). They can be fabricated by amalgamation of three vital precursors, such as metals, ceramic and polymers. Nanocomposites differ from their parent materials in properties- optical, thermal, electrical, electro chemical, catalytic and mechanical features. Nanocomposites arisen as "Materials of 21st century" that extend numerable technological and commercial break through in multiple sectors. Therefore in the present review, we report, an outline on the recent advancement in metal oxide based polymer biodegradable nanocomposites. The preparatory methods, properties have been elucidated in detail. A special emphasize was given on the applications of metal oxides/ polymer biodegradable bio composites in the field of food industry, environment, health Care, biosensor and in tissue engineering sectors.
