Tests on MD-R bacterial infections from post-operative wounds showed that ethanol and aqueous extracts of four medicinal plants were effective. For this, they employed a mix of water and ethanol extraction methods. Early research focused on the plant's photochemical components. The antibacterial activity of the leaves was then tested against wound-infected reference bacteria using the agar well diffusion technique. A preliminary photochemical study found spooning, phenolics, and reducing sugars in practically every plant studied. All plant extracts showed antimicrobial efficacy against a single reference strain. These herbs, particularly in traditional medicine, may aid with acute and chronic wounds.
