| Abstract:

A comparison of the monographs of bulk steroid hormones and hormone-like structures specified in the monographs of European Pharmacopoeia 4th edition (Ph. Eur. IV), the United States Pharmacopoeia 26th edition (USP XXVI), the Japanese Pharmacopoeia 14th edition (Ph Jp. XIV), and the Indian Pharmacopoeia 7th edition (Ph. IP. VII). The analysis of steroids utilizing different analytical techniques were reviewed and recent advancements of this techniques in hyphenated and tandem were mentioned.
