Abstract: Background: Cancer is one of the most prominent health issues around the world. One among them is breast cancer, which is the major cause of cancer-related mortality in women of about 13%. Thus, this study was taken up to evaluate preoperative and postoperative chemotherapy management in patients with breast cancer. Methods: The observational study was done in patients who were diagnosed with breast cancer along with those who underwent surgery were included in the study. The information regarding the demographic data, type of surgery and medications assigned were collected from patient records and was documented. Descriptive analysis was employed for the data collected and presented. Results: The prevalence of breast cancer was commonly found in age groups 49-69 (n=63; 57.27%). Most of them were postmenopausal (n=76; 69.09%) and gained weight (n=48; 43.63%) after chemotherapy. Patients opted for Adjuvant chemotherapy (n=50; 45.45%) rather than Neo Adjuvant Chemotherapy. Chemotherapeutic agents such as Adriamycin with Cyclophosphamide (n=55; 50%) and Taxanes with Cyclophosphamide (n=36; 32.72%) whereas antibiotics like Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid (n=108; 98.18%) were prescribed. Supportive care agents, namely Pantoprazole and Ondansetron, were preferred by almost all of the study population. Conclusion: The study suggests the importance of screening in diagnosing breast cancer in elderly patients and that combination therapy is more effective than monotherapy in addition to supportive therapy. The regular monitoring of chemotherapeutic agents has to be done to attain cost-effectiveness and improve the patient's quality of life.
