Utilization of Post-Exercise Recovery and Plyometric Training for 8 Weeks on Performance Agility and Leg Power: Factorial Design Experimental Study

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate and compare the utilization of post-exercise active and passive recovery and plyometric training low-intensity and high-intensity on agility and leg power performance. This study was conducted with a 2 x 2 factorial experimental design approach. A total of 40 athletes participated as research samples according to the criteria, namely male athletes and experienced during the provincial level training center program for at least six months. The test evaluation procedure in this study was carried out before and after implementing the intervention for eight weeks using the side-step agility test instrument to measure agility and the force plate vertical jump test to measure leg power. The multivariate test results showed that post-exercise recovery and plyometric training resulted in a significant difference in the effect of p0.039 = 0.05 on increasing agility and leg power. Furthermore, the post hoc test results showed that A2B2 (passive recovery and plyometric high-intensity) was better than A1B1 (active recovery and plyometric low-intensity) in increasing leg power with a significant level of p 0.017 = 0.05. This study concluded that passive recovery and high-intensity plyometric traing for eight weeks resulted in a more practical effect in increasing leg power. The results of this study are expected to be information and reference in utilizing post-plyometric recovery to improve the physical performance of athletes.
