A Herbal Medicines Of The Past With Bright Future For Treatment Of Aphthous Ulcer: A Scoping Review

Abstract: Oral ulcers are a common condition that might be a sign of gastroenterological disease. Oral ulcers are sometimes sent to gastroenterology clinics, but the ulcers do not always indicate gastrointestinal problems. Other than stomach ulcers, oral mucosal ulcers can be produced by a range of diseases ranging from minor local damage to serious local disease such as cancer or systemic illness. The mouth ulcer generally causes pain and discomfort, and it may affect the person's eating preferences as it heals. Local trauma, randomly biting inside, immunological responses , continuous abrasion of dentures, constant touching of sharpen teeth and Aphthous stomatitis are the also most common causes of oral ulceration. This review article focuses on the causes of mouth ulcers as well as the factors that contribute to them. Natural products and traditional medicines exhibit the great significance in our daily life also used in treatment for various diseases. Herbal and natural product medicine, as we all know, is the mainstay of basic healthcare due to its cultural acceptability, compatibility with the human body, and lack of adverse effects. This review covers Achyranthus aspera, Purple Cone Flower, Honey, Guava, Chamomile, Triphala, Neem, Alovera, Capsicum, Papaya, Turmeric, Licorice, Noni Fruit, as well as its biological source, family, morphology, chemical contents, and uses.
