Dental caries is one of the most chronic disease in children and untreated dental caries can lead to a poor quality of life. It is a preventable process and an abundance of caries-preventive methods are available for the dental professionals. Silver diamine fluoride (SDF) has emerged as a viable option in arresting an active carious lesion. Extensive studies have been performed illuminating its role as a non-restorative caries management therapy. The role of SDF has become even more significant in caries management during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this review article shall highlight the effectiveness of SDF to prevent and arrest dental caries in primary and permanent teeth in children.
