During recent years, naphthaoxazinone and its derivatives, regarding their very important biological and
pharmacological effects, have found a special place in the field of natural and synthetic organic chemistry. The
one-pot, three-component concentrations of 2-naphthol, aromatic aldehydes, urea, and acetamide give the
derivatives of naphthaoxazinone and aminoalkyl-2-naphthol. In the current study, the preparation of
naphthaoxazinone derivatives through the condensation reaction and one-pot reaction of 2-naphthol, aldehydes,
and urea in a solvent-free manner in the presence of boron sulfonic acid catalyst has been reported as an organic
and environmentally friendly catalyst. Most of the reported methods are multi-stage and usually, these reactions
are performed in toxic solvents. Due to the fact that multi-step synthesis necessitates more time and labor,
more solvents and chemicals, and more environmental pollution, and the cost is higher and, on the other hand,
the overall benefit of multi-step reactions is usually low; consequently, the reduction of synthetic steps is
considered as one of the effective activities in this field. So, in this study, to improve the formerly reported
methods, by presenting new and environmentally friendly methods, we tried to prepare numerous derivatives
of such compounds in mild conditions and using inexpensive raw materials.
