The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of self-efficacy training and learning strategies on
students' academic procrastination. The research is quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test and control
group. The statistical population includes all female students studying in the secondary school of District 4 of
Tehran in the academic year of 2019-20. From among them, 36 people were selected by purposive sampling and
were randomly assigned to two groups of 18 people. The training sessions were implemented in 8 1-hour
sessions based on the protocols of Shaykh al-Islami (2017) and Mohammadi and Daftari Ekbatan (2017) and the
individuals answered the Solomon and Roth Bloom (1984) academic procrastination questionnaire. The results
were analyzed by SPSS software version 23 and analysis of covariance. The results showed that there was a
difference between the components of preparing for exams, preparing for homework and preparing for the
semester final exams after adjusting the effects of pre-test in the experimental and control groups. This difference
is statistically significant with 99% confidence (P=0.01). Consequently, after adjusting the effects of pre-test, the
self-efficacy training and learning strategies had an effect on the academic procrastination of female high school
students in Tehran.
