Contractors’ All Risks (CAR) is well-known and complete insurance policies in construction contracts. Thus, CAR Takaful is an option to the CAR insurance and Shari’ah compliant. This paper examines the mediating effect of intention in the relationship between attitude, subjective norm, awareness, understanding, religiosity, role of agents and service quality on the selection of CAR Takaful product using theory of planned behavior (TPB). 471 questionnaires were returned by respondents and 414 were found completed and used for analysis. The data were analyzed with SmartPLS software version 3.0. The findings revealed that attitude, subjective norm, awareness, religiosity and role of agents significantly mediated by intention to select CAR Takaful product. The results also verified the mediating effect of intention and support theoretical relationship of TPB model. This emphasis should be taken seriously especially key players in the Takaful industry to increase the understanding of Muslim contractors on the importance of choosing CAR Takaful product over conventional products.
